The Normandy Landings: The History of D-Day and a Tour of the Beaches Today

This year marks the 80th Anniversary of D-Day. The events of June 6, 1944, will go down in history as one of the moments of greatest heroism and sacrifice of all time. Thousands of Allied troops landed in France to liberate Europe occupied by German troops. Throughout these pages, the reader will discover the entire plan for the invasion, General Eisenhower’s discussions with his General Staff, the parachute jump on the morning of D-Day, and the landings analyzed beach by beach: Utah, Omaha, Gold, Juno, Sword. The reader will also analyze the decisions made by Rommel and the German generals in charge of defending the coast, to finally follow in the footsteps of Easy Company. In the last part, the reader will tour the beaches of the Normandy landings today, seeing the most iconic places and planning his own trip.
